Having been to not one, not two… but FIVE…Splendour in the Grass festivals together, it’s no surprise that Nicole and Jason had always dreamed of a festival wedding. “Live music, festival food and camping. Guests were encouraged to stay from Friday to Monday. The main event was held on the Saturday and on the Sunday we had an epic Sunday session planned.”
Aptly called Wedding in the Grass’, the pair’s day featured a merchandise tent (stocked with wristbands, stubby coolers and t-shirts) and heaps of delicious food from Jungle Oven Catering, Chilli Sisters and Paella Fella.
With 130 guests present, there were many good times to be had. Just ask the bride who danced the night away in her gorgeous custom made Marilyn Crystelle Bridal gown.
“I took bits of pieces from dresses I liked and how they suited my body. I did have mini freak outs along the way knowing that I had no idea what my dress would look like. However in the end I couldn’t have been happier with my dress,” says Nicole, who adds that she and Jason made sure they incorporated their favourite music, food and people into their epic party, captured by the amazing Janneke Storm.
“Don’t stress that your guests or family might not like it because the day is about celebrating you and your love. You only get married once (or twice) we tell everyone!”
